Roger Eugene Johnson

Marion- ROGER EUGENE JOHNSON, passed away at 6:00am on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his home at Our Directions in Marion. Roger was born in Rockford, IL on August 13, 1938, the son of Hjalmer and Elsie (Carlson) Johnson. He was 72 years young. Roger had resided in Marion since 1997. He attended Our Directions Senior Program in Herrin, where he was one of the original five clients participating. Roger was very happy there. A time of gathering to celebrate Rogers life will be held from 10am until noon on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Rockford, where he will be laid to rest with his parents. Survivors include his caregiver- Verna Webb of Marion and his cousin- Marion Groh of Rockford. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and three of his closest friends- Lester, Margaret, and Harold. Roger was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by all the clients and the entire staff at Our Directions.
