Ronald L. Absher

Herrin- Ronald L. Absher, 69, of Herrin, passed away at 1:42 AM, Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Herrin Hospital. Ron was born on May 8, 1942 in Williamson County to Louis and Margaret (Hale) Absher. He married Connie Sue Strunk on July 2, 1966 at Energy First Baptist Church. She survives of Herrin. Ron served his country honorably as a US Army veteran. He was retired after working many years at various jobs throughout the area. Survivors include- Wife- Connie S. Absher of Herrin Parents- Louis and Margaret Absher of Herrin Son- Ronnie Absher of Herrin Daughter- Nicole (Absher) Marks and husband Chris of Marion Granddaughters- McKinleigh and Haleigh Absher of Herrin Grandson- Nathan Lawwill of Marion Brother- Emmett Absher of Herrin Brother- Mike Absher and wife Dorothy of Johnston City Sister- Marie Campanella and husband Sam of Desoto Sister- Paula Oldani and husband Bob of Henderson, KY Sister- Connie Bissey and husband John of Herrin Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his sister- Judy Workman and brother- Keith Absher. His wishes were to be cremated and private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Judes Childrens Hospital and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin/ IL 62948.
