Herrin- Ronald Percy Wade, 72, of Herrin, died at 1:00 AM, Friday, July 29, 2016 at his home.
He was born on November 30, 1943 in Herrin to Glen and Mildred (Hall) Wade. He married Phyllis S. Summers on January 14, 1967 in Plumfield. She survives of Herrin.
He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a helicopter mechanic. Once honorably discharged, he returned home and began a career as a forklift operator for Diagraph Bradley for many years until his retirement in 2006.
He was a Christian. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing for crappie at Wolfe Creek on Crab Orchard Lake or spending time in his garden tending to his tomatoes, squash, zucchini and cucumbers. He enjoyed watching old westerns, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and UK sports. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

Son- Jason Lee Wade and wife Latisha of Richmond, KY

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Fred Wade and Bob McGee.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 1, 2016 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery where military rites will be performed at graveside by the Herrin VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance from the Illinois National Guard. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Monday, at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
