Rosemary M. Edwards, age 76, of Dixon, IL, formerly of Southern Illinois, died
Friday, April 6, 2007, at her home in Dixon.
She worked at Freeman Shoe Company in Dixon for several years and at Borg
Warner in Dixon for 30 years, where she retired as a foreman in 1992.
Rosemary was born December 9, 1930, in East Marion Township, Williamson
County, IL, the daughter of Roy and Marguerite (Doreset) Mandrell. She
married Wesley B. Edwards on November 4, 1946 in Carbondale, IL. He preceded
her in death on June 6, 1971. Rosemary attended the Assembly of God Church in
Dixon.
Survivors include three daughters, Mildred Dianne (Rex) Schmall, Glenda
Edwards, both of Dixon, Brenda (Anthony) Tranka of Amboy; one brother, Jerry
(Carolyn) Mandrell of Mechanicsburg, IN; two sisters, Audrey (William) Buttry
of Mechanicsburg, IN, Barbara (Ovie) Edwards of Carrier Mills, IL; eight
grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Currens; one son, John
Wesley Edwards; one grandson, Jeremy Edwards; one brother, Terry Mandrell; and
one sister, Myrna Coffee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at
Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, IL. Burial will follow at the Number
Eight Cemetery in Corinth, IL. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the
time of services on Thursday at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association. Envelopes
will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N. Market
