Herrin- Rosemary (Burgess) Glenn, 74, of Herrin, formerly of Rock Falls, IL, died from complications of cancer at 2:05 AM, Friday, July 6, 2007 at Herrin Hospital. She was born December 30, 1932 in Herrin. She was the daughter of Ernst F. & Grace Clyde (Rhodes) Burgess. She married her devoted companion Thomas Glenn on August 29, 1952 in Piggott, AR. He survives of Herrin. Rosemary was a homemaker and formerly worked the garment line at Smoller Bros in Herrin. She was a member of Herrin First Baptist Church and a former member of Komo Baptist Church in Komo. She was active in all aspects of church ministries through the years. Rosemary was also an avid writer of poetry. She is loved by- Husband- Thomas Glenn of Herrin Sister & brother in law- Dr. Elizabeth Gale (Burgess) & husband Dr. Remo Castrale of OFallon, IL Brother & sister in law- Joseph Dale & Carol Burgess of Springfield Brother & sister in law- Rev. Dr. David Lee & Susan Burgess of Salem, IL Nephew- Michael Castrale & wife Mary of Lebanon Nephew- Jeffery Burgess & wife Melony (Wilson) of Doraville, GA Niece- Kimberly (Burgess) Fish & husband Bill of Petersburg, IL Niece- Sara Beth (Castrale) LaPere & husband Scott of OFallon, IL Niece- Wendolyn (Burgess) Penn & husband Travis of Salem, IL Grand nieces & nephews- Amanda (Fish) Workman & husband Brandon of Buffalo, IL Rachel Fish of Petersburg, IL Brooklyn & Isaiah Penn of Salem, IL Chandler & Jamie Burgess of Doraville, GA Devin & Lauren LaPere of OFallon, IL Her parents and one brother, Dr. Jack Ray Burgess, formerly of San Francisco, CA, preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, July 9, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Charles Dampeer, Rev. Don Grammer, Rev. Brad Harlow and Rev. Dr. David L. Burgess will officiate. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Herrin First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
