Roy Lee Boles

Marion Roy Lee Boles, 95, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 3:10 P.M. at Fountains Nursing Home. Roy was born November 6, 1911 in Marion to Herman and Effie Mae (Taylor) Boles. He married Bernice Smith in Paducah, Kentucky on August 5, 1937 and together they shared over 65 years of marriage until her death on May 30, 2003. Roy was a member of 2nd Baptist Church in Marion where for many years he taught Sunday School. He had retired from Motor Wheel Corporation in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He loved to garden. Survivors include: Two sons Steven Ray Boles & wife Peggy of Pompano Beach, Florida and Gary L. Boles & Rebecca Eairheart of Marion. Two grandchildren Terry Boles and wife Robin and Susan Jarnagin and husband Gerald both of Memphis, Tennessee. Great Grandchild Marilyn Fay Boles of Memphis. Preceded by Parents, Wife, Son Melvin Lee Boles, Brother William Ray Boles and Sister Ella Mae Smith. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
