Ruby E. Lane

Herrin- RUBY EVALYN LANE, age 87, of Herrin, passed away at 7:00pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. Ruby was born on February 11, 1923 at Hafer, IL, the daughter of Peter and Lillie (Whitecotton) Dagnan. She married Leon Boomie Lane in October of 1941. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1992. Ruby was a member of the Park Avenue Church of God in Herrin. Survivors include- Daughter- Janet and Mike Worthen of Herrin, IL Daughter- Lisa and Todd Ward of Herrin, IL Son- Gregory Lane of Christopher, IL Six Grandsons- Todd Suddath, Michael Worthen, Jared Ward and Cody Ward- all of Herrin, IL Tommy Tellor of Oldsmar, FL; and Denny Sparks of Orlando, FL One granddaughter-Rachel Ward of Herrin, IL Three great grandchildren- Tyler Worthen of Herrin, IL and Kyler and Emilee Sparks of Orlando, FL One dear sister- Betty Manning of Herrin, IL Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter- Lana Sparks, two brothers, one sister, and two infant granddaughters. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the care and compassion that was given to Ruby from Dr. Pramote and all Rubys caregivers at Parkway Manor. And to her brother-in-law, Rev. Don Colson, for his prayers and always being there at any hour when the family called. The prayers and visits from all the family and friends were greatly appreciated. You all mean so much to the family. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rubys brother-in-law, Rev. Don Colson, will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Friday at the funeral home.
