Herrin- Ruby Mae Fogle, 92, of Herrin, passed away at 9:24 PM, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Herrin Hospital.
Ruby was born on May 2, 1921 in Bluff City, IL to Charles W. and Martha (Pope) Hatfield. She married Jesse Noel “Jess” Fogle on September 1, 1940 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1996.
Ruby was a loving homemaker who naturally took care of others and selflessly gave of herself. She was a member of Bryan St. Baptist Church in Herrin. She was involved civically and volunteered at the Herrin Food Pantry. She was in several social clubs with her friends and bowled in league play with the “Roadrunners.”
In her spare time she enjoyed craftwork with her husband Jess and tolle painting and folk art. She taught herself to sew and was an excellent cook and baker of pies, particularly coconut cream pies. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Sister- Helen Humphrey of Herrin
Brother- Earl Hatfield of Herrin
Brother- Gene Hatfield and wife Mary Ann of Herrin
Sister- Carol Jent and husband Dean of Carterville
Brother- Gary Hatfield of Johnston City
Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters- Barbara Hammonds and Margaret Hatfield and brothers- Jack and Bill Hatfield.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastor Duane Faulkenberry will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2014 and prior to the service on Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
