Ruby Williams

Herrin- RUBY (BOATRIGHT) WILLIAMS, age 95, of Herrin, passed away at 12:18am on Friday, October 12, 2007 at Herrin Hospital. Ruby was born in Saline County on May 16, 1912, the daughter of Everett and Eva (Thompson) Boatright. She married Everett Williams in Saline County on January 8, 1932. They shared forty-four years of marriage, until his death on September 5, 1976. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Smarts Chapel in Saline County. She was retired from Smoler Brothers in Herrin. Survivors include: Two sons- Earl Williams of Herrin, IL Jack and Sandra Williams of Herrin, IL Three Daughters-In-Law- Mary Williams of Herrin, IL Joni Williams of Carterville, IL Diane and Steve Jones of Salem, KY Grandchildren- Brenda and Jim Manners, Linda and Jimmy Frazier, Huie and Norma Stone, Rusty and Margie Williams, Robert Williams, Mark Williams, Larry Williams, David and Betty Williams, Darin and Barbara Williams, Susan and Pete Buttitta, David Williams, Michael and Ann Williams, Carla Williams, and Debra Stone Nephew- Vernon Dale Boatright Numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren Ruby was preceded in death by her parents- Eva and Everett Boatright; her husband- Everett; two sons- Dale and Donald Williams; two daughters- Linda Lou and Nyla Jean; her grandson- Greg; and two brothers. The family would like to thank Kent and Anita Ritchey and the entire staff at Country Acres Assisted Living for the loving care they provided. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 15, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
