Rubye (Judy) Mecay

Marion Rubye D. Judy Mecay, 96, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 5:14 P.M. at Parkway Manor. Judy was born November 28, 1910 in Olmstead, Illinois to Warren L. & Elizabeth (Bundschuh) Richey. She married Leroy E. Mac Mecay on November 23, 1940 and together they shared over 49 years of marriage until his death on February 14, 1990. Judy retired as an accountant; she had also owned her own employment agency in Joliet. She attended Marions 1st Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the hospital auxiliary. Judy was also involved in Joliet with the building commission. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and is preceded by her parents, her husband Mac, four brothers, Leslie, Owen, Milo and Glenn Richey, three sisters, Virginia Reichert, Grace Bise and Mabel Richardson. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Victor Long officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to 1st Presbyterian Church.
