Ruth Ann Nelson

Ruth Ann Nelson, age 50, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away at 3:57 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Ruth was born in Chicago on April 11, 1970, the daughter of David Roland and Wendy (Fuentes) Nelson.

Ruth worked as an assistant manager at Ace Hardware in Energy for over 20 years.  She was a very hard worker, and always put others before herself. She loved horseback riding, rescuing animals and enjoyed working for an animal hospital.

Survivors include her two children, Paigh McMillan of Herrin and Ehryn McMillan of Marion; mother, Wendy Harris of Lansing, Michigan; brother, Paul Nelson of Herrin; sister, Mandy Harris of Lansing, Michigan; uncle, William Mosley of Herrin; two nieces and one nephew.

Ruth was preceded in death by her grandparents and step-father, Phil Harris.

Ruth’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are being held.

Memorial donations may be made to Ruth’s family and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, 201 S. 13^th Street, Herrin, Illinois 62948.
