Ruth Politan

Herrin- Ruth Politan, 94, of Herrin, passed away at 9:40 AM, Sunday, August 12, 2007 at her home in Herrin. Ruth was born on March 26, 1913 in Marion to Benjamin F. & Laura Bell (Head) Harris. She married Robert Politan on October 9, 1942 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2005. She was retired from Smoller Brothers in Herrin where she worked as a seamstress for many years. Ruth was Baptist. She enjoyed gardening craftwork and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Survivors include- Daughter in law- Nita June Clark of Arnold, MO Grandchild- Robert Clark of Arnold, MO Grandchild- Ronald Clark & wife Kim of Hillsboro, MO Grandchild- Crystal Herold & husband Mark of Arnold, MO Grandchild- Patricia Lewis & husband Jeffrey of Arnold, MO Great Grandchildren- Ron, Sabrina, Rachael, Jennifer, Melissa, Justin, Erica & Alicia Great Great Grandchildren- Landon & Mackenzie Sister- Pansy Bloodworth of East Peoria, IL Sister- Violet (Kelly) Leonard of Marion She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Nolen Clark, Sr. and one brother- Randall Clark. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Shorty Alsip will officiate. Entombment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
