Ruth Reed

Creal Springs Ruth Reed, 83, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 1:42 A.M. at Harrisburg Medical Center. Ruth was born September 3, 1923 in Johnson County to Jess & Mayme (Sanders) Darnell. She married Joseph R. Peck Reed on December 24, 1949 in Piggott, Arkansas and together they shared over 51 years of marriage until his death on August 28, 2001. Ruth was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: Two Sons: Robert D. Purnell and wife Patricia of Marion, Joe Reed and wife Linda of Harrisburg. Three Daughters; Donna Feuquay and husband Marty of Harrisburg, Linda Murphy and husband James of Stonefort and Jessie Westfall and husband Greg of Carrier Mills. 25 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Preceded by Parents, Husband Joseph, Daughter Phyllis Ann Purnell, Brother Gene Darnell and Two Sisters Florene Owens and Jessie Ramey. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Gordon Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service.
