S. Louise Lee

S. Louise Lee, 89, of Herrin passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 5:20 A.M. at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home. Louise was born August 24, 1920 in Oil City, LA the daughter of James L. & M. Lucille (Crain) McElroy. She first married Thomas VanZandt then married Ira W. Grant and Jerry Lee, they all have preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Herrin and she retired from the White County Bank in Carmi where she had worked as a bookkeeper. Survivors include; Two Daughters; Marieta L. Launius of Herrin Lenita L. Kinane of Austin, Texas Three Grandchildren; Thomas J. Swalls of Chicago Matthew C. Swalls and wife Karna of Carterville Robyn L. Cloud of Herrin Eight Great Grandchildren Five Great Great Grandchildren Brother J.L. McElroy and wife Jean of Carterville Two Sisters; Elizabeth L. Goodwin of Mammouth Virginia L. Bigman and husband Kenneth of Carmi Several nieces and nephews Preceded by her parents, husbands and granddaughter Jessica Kinane Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Noon at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Ron Henwood and Chaplin Glen Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
