Sadie Marie Fender

Sadie Marie Fender, 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 2:35 pm at Marion Rehab. Sadie was born February 1, 1927 in Spillertown the daughter of William Earl and Ida May (Hayes) Stroud.  She married Raymond James Cunningham on November 5, 1958 in Chicago and he passed away in 1966.  Sadie later married Harry W. Fender on November 1, 1971 in McHenry, Illinois and he passed away on April 5, 1986. Sadie spent her working years in Elgin, before moving back to Southern Illinois in 1986 making her home in Stiritz. She was an avid baseball and football fan. Survivors include her; Brother – Kenneth Stroud of Johnston City Three Sisters; Louise Hawkins of Indianapolis, Indiana Pat Joanne Milton of Carbondale Betty Branche of Creal Springs Sister-in-law – Mavis Stroud of New Boston, Michigan Several nieces and nephews Preceded by her Parents, Husbands, Grandparents – William “Pop” and Pinie Stroud, Brothers – William “Blackie” Stroud and Jack Stroud Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 2 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or the Wounded Warriors.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959
