Sara Sims

MULKEYTOWN- Sara J. Sims, 21, of Mulkeytown, died in a tragic car accident at 7:40 AM, Friday, November 18, 2005 in Desoto. Sara was the beloved daughter of Perry & Joni (Gardner) Sims. She was born April 20, 1984 in Herrin. Sara was only twenty-one and the new mother of a beautiful little girl, Alyssa, in August. Not only did a baby lose her mother, but a mother lost her child. Sara was in the top ten of her graduating class at Christopher High School. She was a homemaker and provided home care for handicapped individuals. She served in the Illinois National Guard. Worth, Texas Father- Perry Sims- West Frankfort Grandfather- Vernon Nagle- Nashville Grandparents- Ben & Nila Rose Gardner- West Frankfort Sister- Melissa Sims- Buckner Sister- Jessica Sims- Marion Brother- Evan Sims- Texas Several Aunts & Uncles She was preceded in death by her grandmother; Theople Nagle. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Monday, November 21, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. We will find it especially difficult to get past this loss, we can only pray for comfort in the days, weeks and years to come and are grateful for Allysa that John and his family are there to care for her.
