Christopher- SHARON KAY SMITH, age 59, of Christopher, passed away at 10:28am on Monday, September 11, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Sharon was born on November 14, 1946 in Carbondale to George and Grace (Martin) Steinburger. She married Chester Smith Sr. on December 14, 1973 in Granite City, IL. He survives in Christopher. Mrs. Smith was a retired registered nurse. Survivors include- Husband- Chester Smith Sr.- Christopher, IL Two Daughters- Jennifer and Bill Clark- Omaha, IL Dena and Charles Fisher- Benton, IL Two Sons- Chester Jr. and Christine Smith- Collinsville, IL Floyd Smith- Lynn, MO 11 Grandchildren One Brother- Robert and Sharon Martin- Waterloo, IL One Sister- Joyce Martin- Missouri Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and one son- James Smith. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Chris Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
