Sharon Kay Gentry

Freeman Spur- SHARON KAY GENTRY, age 67, of Freeman Spur, passed away at 2:35am on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Marion Rehab and Nursing Center. Sharon was born in Herrin on December 31, 1943, the daughter of Thomas and Neva (Helms) Gentry. Survivors include her sister- Lois and Jim Garavalia of Freeman Spur, IL Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers- Billy, Bobby, and James Gentry, three sisters- Gloria Reed, Juanita Bailey and Peggy Ridgeway, and two brother-in-laws- Wayne Bailey and Bud Ridgeway, one niece- Cathy Ridgeway, and one nephew- Rodney Laney. The family would like to thank the staff at Marion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with a very special thank you to LeeAnn Ward for all the care and compassion shown. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Friday at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
