Carterville- Sharon Kay Morse, age 70, of Carterville, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Helia Healthcare of Energy.
Sharon was born in Herrin on June 22, 1947, the daughter of Henry and Venita (Hammontree) Moss. She married her high school sweetheart, Steve Franklin Morse, in May of 1966. He survives in Carterville.
Sharon was most importantly a mother and homemaker. Her parents owned and operated Moss Grocery Store in Cambria, where she often worked. She also worked at Sears for many years. She dearly loved her children and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Her September family reunion parties, which she put great work into, will be missed.

Niece- Amelia Kolkmeyer of Colorado
Great Niece and Great Nephew- Madison and Michael Moss
Sister-in-law- Teresa and Bert Jones of Herrin
Brother-in-law- Jerry and Sherry Morse of Herrin
Brother-in-law- Larry and Brenda Morse of Murphysboro
Brother-in-law- Robert Morse and fiancé Melody Beers of Cambria
Best Friends- Paula Tutkus and LaDonna Carney
Her wish was to be cremated. The family will hold memorial services at 5:00pm on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the home of Steve and Sharon Morse (3053 Vermont Road in Carterville, IL 62918) to celebrate her life. Food will be provided, however, you may bring a dish to share if you choose. Memorial arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
