Marion- SHARON R. (SHARI) COCKRUM, 53, of Marion, formerly of Rapid City, SD, passed away at 6:14pm on Thursday April 7, 2005 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, IL.
Sharon was born in Hamlin, WV on April 16, 1951 to Dencil Ray and Mary Frances (Parker) Godby. She married Douglas Cockrum on November 19, 1988 in Rapid City, SD. He survives in Marion.
Mrs. Cockrum was a veteran of the United States Air Force. She worked as an administrative specialist at various Air Force bases; most recently at Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City.
She was of protestant faith and a former member of the Eastern Star in Rapid City, SD. In her spare time she liked sewing and quilting, and especially loved making quilts for children and grandkids. She and Doug enjoyed traveling and took every opportunity to visit her grandchildren.

2 daughters- Stephanie & Matt Krebsbach of Rapid City, SD
Stacy & Matt Jayne- on active duty at Barksdale Air Force Base-Bossier City, LA
Mother- Mary Cockrum- Marion
1 stepson- Matthew Scott Cockrum- Ogden, UT
1 stepdaughter- Kimberly Sue Cockrum- Spearfish, SD
3 grandchildren- Evan & Eric Krebsbach- Rapid City, SD
Lauryn Ridenour- Bossier City- LA
1 sister and brother-in-law- Sue and Mike Micllef- Marshalltown, IA
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion has been entrusted with arrangements. A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the Blackhills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD with military rites performed at graveside.
