Sherry Lynn (Baysinger) Whiting of Marion IL went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 28th, 2021. Sherry was born December 9th 1956 to Kirby and Dorothy (Rush) Baysinger of Marion. Sherry met her husband Mike Whiting in high school and dated for two years before they married on July 5, 1974. They shared 47 years of wedding bliss together. Sherry is a Marion High School graduate, class of 1974.
Sherry is survived by her husband Mike Whiting, her two sons, Chris (Jennifer) Whiting and Bradley Whiting, her two grandchildren Callie and Cooper Whiting. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Phyllis Baysinger, her nephew Michael (Lori) Baysinger and niece Michelle Baxter all of Marion. Along with her great nephews Joseph (Jordan) Baxter, Dylan Baxter and Jarred Baysinger. Her great nieces Marissa (Mitchell) Potts and Adrianna Baysinger.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Larry Baysinger and one granddaughter Angel Whiting.
Sherry started her career off working for W3D in advertising, she then moved on to Real Estate but found her true passion as an RN. She graduated from McKendree College with her RN degree. She loved taking care of her patients and helping them feel better. Sherry loved to travel and see new areas. Including Hawaii, Alaska where she and Mike were able to renew their wedding vows on their 30th Anniversary and the New England states just some of her favorite places. She got to enjoy several trips with her grandchildren including going to Disney World and taking her granddaughter to Bippity Boppity Boutique and seeing the Grand Canyon and Sedona with them. Sherry enjoyed spending time with her beloved pets, they brought her such joy. Sherry loved being with her family, she would go to gymnastic meets for her great nieces and then for her granddaughter. You could also find Sherry at the baseball fields cheering on her grandson. One of her last trips was seeing her niece Marissa get married, she looked forward to that day for a long time and was blessed to be able to share that beautiful day with her family.
At this time no services will be held. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers donations for the family will be accepted at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
