Herrin- Shirley Alfreda Spiller, 73, of Herrin, passed away at 9:25 AM, Friday, January 16, 2015 at Herrin Hospital.
Shirley was born on September 28, 1941in Herrin to George Washington and Eva Mae (Walker) Atterberry. She married Leland Ray Spiller on April 26, 1961 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2013.
Mrs. Spiller was retired after working several years at Maytag in Herrin. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Herrin.
Shirley was an active lady and was a member of the Senior Circle in Herrin and the Williamson County Program for Aging. In her spare time she enjoyed craftwork and volunteered her time at the Marion Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Brother- Carrold Atterberry and wife Dorothy of Herrin
Several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Allen Spiller, sisters- Rosalie Atterberry and Annalee Upchurch, and brothers- Harold and Henry Atterberry.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 19, 2015 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
