SPERLIN L. "TENNESSEE" ROBERTSON
Herrin-Sperlin L. "Tennessee" Robertson ,90, went to be with the Lord at 2:25 p. m. Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Herrin Hospital.
He was born November 24, 1912 at Big Rock, Tennessee to Truman & Laura (Walker) Robertson.
He married Macil Mae Cheatham December 25, 1934 in Lay Fayette County, Kentucky. She died July 11, 1989.
Mr. Robertson was a retired coal miner from Zeigler Coal Mine #4. He attended
Union Gospel Mission in Herrin and was a Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was a member of Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church in Marion and a member of the UMWA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two daughters Brenda Kay Robertson, Mary Wortham, one granddaughter, Karen Lynn Baker, son in law , Larry Culbreath and four brothers, Homer, Fred, Frank and Buck Robertson.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2003 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Ed Null will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Herrin City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
