Stella Mae Morse

Herrin- Stella Mae Morse, 89, of Hurst, passed away at 5:12 PM, Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Herrin Hospital. Stella was born on New Years Day 1921 in Anna, IL to James Roy & Amelia (Garret) Miner. She married Lee Roy Morse on February 27, 1940 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2001. Stella was retired having previously worked during WWII at the International Shoe Factory in Anna and after raising her children and tending to her home and family she worked as a teachers aide at Hurst Elementary School. She was a member and dedicated worker at Hurst First Baptist Church where she taught various Sunday school classes. She was also a member of Noel Robertson American Legion Post #664 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her church and spending time with her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include- Son- Steve Morse & wife Sharon of Carterville Son- Kenneth G. Morse of Energy Son- Larry Morse & wife Brenda of Murphysboro Son- Jerry Morse & wife Jackie of Herrin Daughter- Teresa Jones & husband Bert of Herrin Son- Robert Morse and fianc Melody Beers of Cambria Six Grandchildren: Stephanie Morse Melissa Morse Daryl Morse & wife Meghan Denise Bennett Amelia Kokameyer & husband Rob Donita Toms Five Great Grandchildren: Bryar Morse Sabrina Bennett Noah Nolen Eli and Aiden Morse She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter- Jean Augusta Morse, son- Lynn Morse, two brothers- Herman Ellis Miner & Charles Leonard Miner. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Pastor Don Cogdill will officiate. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
