Marion Stella Alice Webb, 95, of Marion passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 1:10 P.M. at Herrin Hospital.
Stella was born October 22, 1916 in Carnegie, Pennsylvania the daughter of Stanley and Albina (Romanovski) Urbanik. She was raised in Christopher, Illinois and graduated from Christopher High School in 1934. She married Julius Joshua Webb of Zeigler, Illinois on January 25, 1936 in Fairfield, Illinois.
She was a ministers wife and homemaker and as such resided in several Illinois communities including Salem, Flora, DuQuoin and Zeigler. She and her husband moved to Marion in 1967 and resided in Marion until death. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion, Illinois.
Survivors include her daughter Major Marcia A. Webb, US Army, Retired of Carterville, Illinois, her son Stephen S. (Randee) Webb of Aurora, Colorado; Four grandchildren, Mark S. Webb of Rockford, Illinois, Jon D. Webb of Geneseo, Illinois, Paul T. Webb of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and Joshua B.J. Webb of Aurora, Colorado, and two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Colin Webb of Elk Grove Village, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rev. Julius J. Webb, her son, Rev. Ronald D. Webb, her brother, Frank Urbanik, USMC, (MIA), Battle of Tarawa, WWII, her sisters, Ireen Vallo, Claire Urbanik and Natalie Hancock.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff VanDyke officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 P.M. 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
