Steven D. Baker

Steven D. Baker, age 71, of Herrin, Illinois,  passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Shawnee Senior Living in Herrin, Illinois.

Steven was born February 20, 1951 in Herrin, Illinois, a son of Thomas and Lillian (Oliver)  Baker.  Steven grew up in Herrin, IL and graduated Herrin High School in 1969.  He moved to Joliet, Illinois and worked for the State Illinois as a Prison Guard.  He moved back to Herrin and worked briefly as a taxi cab driver and also as a carpenter.  He enjoyed going fishing, playing pool, bowling and spending time with Lorna's grandchildren.    

He is survived by his significant other Lorna Thetford of Herrin, IL; three children, Steven M. Baker, Thomas P. Baker and Tracie L. (Walter) Montoya all of Joliet, IL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Lana.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 2:30 PM at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. Keith Owens officiating.
