Herrin- Sue Nell Cooper, age 83, of Herrin, passed away peacefully at 1:47pm on Friday, February 22, 2019 at her daughter’s home, with her loving family by her bedside.
Sue was born in Marked Tree, Arkansas on December 28, 1935, the daughter of Jessie and Sybal Pauline (Harp) Carter. She married Joseph Melvin Cooper in Marked Tree, Arkansas on September 22, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1993.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Joe, and her son- Billy (Duck) Cooper.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Herrin Hospital, the nurses at Hospice of Southern Illinois, the Family Church of God in Zeigler, and Pastor Denny Bush for all their care and compassion shown. Your kindness is truly appreciated.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, February 25, 2019 the Family Church of God in Zeigler with Pastor Denny Bush officiating. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 10am until noon on Monday at the church. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
