Susan J. Witherspoon

Herrin- Susan Witherspoon, 72, of Herrin, passed away at 9:22 AM, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her home. Susan was born on October 22, 1940 in Lynnville, IN to Odelle and June (Kifer) Ricketts. She married Robert Spoon Witherspoon on October 2, 1976 in Herrin. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2011. She worked several years as bookkeeper for Bethesda Medical Center. Prior to that, she worked in the accounting department at Norge Co. Susan was Methodist. She enjoyed reading and playing games with her family and friends. She was an avid golfer who played at various golf courses here and in Florida. Survivors include- Daughter- Robbie Spears and companion Paul Kosco of Herrin Daughter- Jamie Wall and husband Kurt Gugora of Willowbrook One Grandchild- Kace Wall of Westmont Brother- Michael Ricketts and wife Sharon of Herrin Brother- Gerald M. Ricketts and wife Cheryl of Booneville, IN Sister- June Lee Millis and husband Steve of Booneville, IN Sister- Mary Ellen Pickens and husband Terry of Evansville, IN Several nieces and nephews Close friends- Bob Clark of Herrin Anita and Ronnie Schutzenhofer of Herrin Earl and Judy Cox of Ft. Myers, FL Lee Pulsford of Texas She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant sister- Donna Lee Ricketts, brother- Larry Patrick Ricketts and close friend- Karen Clark. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Herrin City Cemetery. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with memorial arrangements.
