Herrin- THEODORE H. TED BOLLMANN, age 85, of Herrin, passed away at 12:35am on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Jackson Care Rehab Center in Murphysboro. Theodore was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 15, 1925, the son of Theodore and Marie (Wottle) Bollman. He married Virginia Kulp in Danbury, CT on November 27, 1955. Together, they have shared fifty-five years of marriage. She survives in Herrin. Mr. Bollmann was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carterville. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, having honorably received a purple heart. Ted was a member of the Herrin American Legion, VFW and the Masonic Prairie Lodge #693. His memberships also included the Illinois Police Association, the NRA, the White Shrine, and the Eastern Star. He was an avid Cubs Fan. Before his retirement, Ted worked for the Marion Federal Penitentiary, Williamson County Program on Aging, and Walmart. Survivors include his wife- Virginia Bollmann of Herrin, IL Three Children- Cynthia and James Stewart of Galatia, IL Mark and Cathleen Bollmann of Carterville, IL Mr and Mrs Robert Guido of Albuquerque, New Mexico Four grandchildren- Nickolas Stewart of Galatia, IL Kyle and Brittany Hodson of Harrisburg, IL Julie Ann Bollmann of Carbondale, IL Mark Andrew Bollmann of Carbondale, IL Two sisters- Martha Zenbo of Danbury, CT Mary Vinney of Greensboro, SC Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, one son- Kevin Jon Bollmann, one brother- Robert Bollmann, and one sister- Betty Huber. Funeral services will be held at 10:45am on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastor Stephen Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery with military honors presented by Herrins VFW and American Legion Posts. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Masonic Rites being conducted at 7pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
