Teresa Marlo Berra

Herrin- TERESA MARLO BERRA, age 99, of Herrin, passed away at 8:00am on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. Teresa was born in Herrin on May 4, 1907, the daughter of Michael and Jennie (Garavalia) Marlo. She married Ren Berra at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Herrin on June 7, 1933. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1985. Mrs. Berra was a retired register nurse, graduating from St. Vincents School of Nursing in Taylorville, and supervisor at the Goodrich Addition of the Herrin hospital. Teresa was a member of the Herrin Hospital Auxiliary and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Survivors include- Daughter and Son-In-Law- Rennie and Terry Hughes- Herrin, IL Daughter and Son-In-Law- Cathy and John Bleem- Havanna, IL 6 Grandchildren- Jeanice and Jerry Kaiser- Troy, MO John Ren and Anita Bleem- Ft Collin, CO Dr. Bernard and Sherry Bleem- Mahomet, IL Jim and Sue Bleem- Sparta, IL Dr. Ren and Melanie Bleem- Havanna, IL Dr. Christopher and Kelly Hughes- Herrin, IL 16 Great Grandchildren Brother-In-Law- John Berra- Herrin, IL 2 Nephews- John and Renny Berra- Texas Special Cousin- Josephine Berra Marlow- Herrin, IL Close Friends- Dr. Jim and Barbara Ottolini- St Louis, MO Rosemary Miller- Oregon Mrs. Berra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great grandson- Michael Anthony Hughes, and one brother-Ceaser Marlo. A private graveside service was held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at San Carlo Cemetery, with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. A celebration of life mass will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been handled by Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
