Terrence M. Terry Keeney, 68, of Marion, passed away at 10:20 PM, Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Keeney was born on July 2, 1940 in East St. Louis to John R. & Henrietta (Hyland) Keeney. He married Roma Harris on September 6, 1958 in Waterloo, IL. Together they have shared over 50 years of marriage.
Terry grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois and graduated from Assumption High School. He owned and operated Keeneys Service Station there for ten years. After moving to Marion he worked for WDDD radio station. Then he opened Keeney Sports and owned and ran that for 21 years. He has owned and operated Keeneys License Service for the last ten years. He has belonged to the Lions Club of Marion for 30 years. He has been an extremely active member and was serving as president this year. Terry belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a religion teacher with them for several years. Terry never met a stranger. His strong faith and perpetual sense of humor were well known. He will be truly missed by many people.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son- Michael Keeney and one brother- Bryan Keeney.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion with Father Richard Mohr officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. The prayer and rosary service will be at 5 P.M. Continued service and visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery Chapel from 11:00 A.M. Noon, Burial will follow.
