Carterville- Terry I. Persman, 64, of Carterville, formerly of Waukegan, passed away at 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 12, 2010 at his home. Terry was born on April 27, 1946 in Albertville, AL to Donald & Beulah Allene (Bell) Persman. He married Rebecca Chancy on December 5, 1964 in Zion, IL. She survives of Carterville. Terry recently worked as a salesman for Terrace Fence Company, but retired in 1996 after working many years as a firefighter for the Waukegan Fire Department. His love was his family and he enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his daughter and hunting and fishing with his son and grandsons. He went on several big game hunts throughout the west. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors- Wife- Becky Persman of Carterville Son- James Michael Persman and wife Linda of Mt. Vernon Daughter- Stacy Persman of Carterville Grandsons- Eric, Michael and Jacob Persman of Mt. Vernon Brother- Steve Persman and wife Michelle of Lindenhurst, IL Brother- Lonnie Slaton & wife Lisa of Atwater, CA Sister- Carolyn Ledford of Kentucky Sister- Marilyn Alverez of California Father in law- Homer Chancy of Carterville Granddog- Gus Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister and his mother in law- Beverly Chancy. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Roger Odom will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
