Thompsonville- Thelma Hill, 80, of Thompsonville, formerly of Herrin, died at 7:30 AM, Friday, November 22, 2002 at her home, Thelma was born on November 5, 1922 in Carterville to Roy & Stella (Yates) Spiller. She married Robert Hill on January 20, 1970 in Goreville. He survives of Thompsonville. Mrs. Hill was a homemaker having formerly worked at Norge Co. and Allen Industries in Herrin. She was a member of the Family Worship Center in Johnston City. SURVIVORS: Husband- Robert Hill- Thompsonville Son & dtr in law- James & Peggy Jennings- Royalton Son & dtr in law- Rev. Charles R. & Sue Jennings- Carbondale Son & dtr in law- Leonard J. & Peggy Jennings- Marion Fourteen Grandchildren Twenty-Eight Great Grandchildren Four Great-Great Grandchildren Brother & sis in law- George & Ruby Spiller- Ft. Meade. FL Sister & bro in law- Ruby & Tom Palmer- Bowling Green, FL Sister & Bro in law- Wanda & Bill Harbaugh- Sarasota, FL Several nieces & nephews and Great Nieces & Nephews Step Son- Bobby Hill- Columbus, OH Step dtr & son in law- Rebecca & James McClure- Zeigler She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter; Patricia Jennings, and two brothers; Virgil & Vernie Spiller. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
