Thelma M. Brown

Herrin- THELMA MARIE BROWN, age 93, of Herrin, passed away at 10:45 pm at her residence on Tuesday May 10, 2005. Thelma was born on January 18, 1912 in Herrin to John Harve and Lora (McAnelly) Hampton. She married Donald F. Brown on April 17, 1938 in Morganville, KY. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1987. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Herrin First Baptist Church and the Herrin Senior Citizens Center. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile, the Herrin Community Pantry, and delivered for Meals on Wheels. Thelma was an avid bowler and loved to crochet and fish. She was a retired hairdresser. Survivors Include- Sister- Mildred Rollo-Summerville, SC Several nieces and nephews Many dear friends Preceded in death by- Her parents Her husband 3 sisters- Lela M. Campbell, Reba Lou (Patty) Hill, Wanda Fern Hampton Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday May 13, 2005 at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. Paul E. Tirey officiating. There will be no visitation. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Herrin.
