Thomas Edward Sanders, 79, died Friday, December 05, 2003 at 11:14 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Edward was born November 24, 1924 to Edd and Lillie Mae (Isaacs) Sanders in Pittsburg. He lived on the family farm all of his life and raised Red Poll beef cattle.
Edward graduated from Union Grove 1 Room School, then 3 years of High School in Pittsburg, and then graduated from Marion High School in 1942. He earned a Bachelors, Masters and partial Doctorate at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He started his teaching career at Western Star, then Fergus for 1 year and he retired after teaching 7th and 8th Grade Science at Washington School in Johnston City for 42 years. He attended Union Grove United Methodist Church where he taught the boys Sunday School class for many years, he was a member of the IEA and NEA.

Two (2) Sisters Louetta Butler and her husband Bob of Marion
Shirley Aikman of Marion.
One (1) Niece Beth Butler of Indianapolis, IN

Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 07, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Bill Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Cemetery or 1st Christian Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
