Marion- THOMAS EVANSCO, age 65, of Marion, formerly of Belleville, passed away at 1:17am on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Herrin Hospital. Thomas was born in East Saint Louis, Illinois on April 8, 1947, the son of Mike and Mary (Konopka) Evansco. He married Emily Spurlock at the Methodist Church in Jonesboro on September 14, 1973. She survives in Marion. Mr. Evansco spent his life career as an accountant. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty nine years- Emily Evansco of Marion Son- Thomas and Shannon Evansco, Jr of West City, MO Daughter- Robann and Michael Grass of Anna Son-David Evansco and fianc Mia Noriega of OFallon, IL Six grandchildren- Holly and husband Eric, Timothy, Cole, Derek, Kayla, and Kara Two Great Grandchildren- Luke and Caleb Mother-in-law- Minnie Wright of Energy Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law- Hugh and Sharon Burns of Marion Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law- Scott and Barb Wright of Johnston City Numerous Nieces and Nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers- Pete Evansco, Mike Evansco, Jr., and George Tex Evansco. Memorial services will be held at 2:30pm on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Jim Slone officiating. A time of gathering will be held from 1:30-2:30pm on Thursday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
