Thomas G. Davis

Herrin- Thomas G. Davis, 70, of Herrin, passed away at 12:57 PM, Friday, November 24, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Thomas was born on November 28, 1935 in West Frankfort to Thomas & Nadine (Ollis) Davis. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Davis was a retired painter and a member of the painters union. He enjoyed working outside, antiquing, watching his favorite programs and hanging out with his buddies at local coffee shops. Thomas was of Baptist faith. He was a member of the Herrin American Legion and VFW Posts and the Herrin Eagles. SURVIVORS: Former wife- Wilda Faye Davis- Herrin Daughter & son in law- Tracy & Rusty Wagley- Colp Three Grandchildren: Dalton, Hunter & Jade Wagley- Colp He was preceded in death by his parents & two children; Gary & Tony Davis. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. The Herrin VFW & American Legion Posts will perform military rites at graveside. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service Tuesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
