Thomas J. Ridgeway, Sr.

Freeman Spur- Thomas J. Ridgeway, Sr., 51, of Freeman Spur, passed away at 1:35 PM, Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his home. Thomas was born on January 28, 1962 in Herrin to Aaron and Peggy (Gentry) Ridgeway.  He worked for more than twenty nine years in various positions at Bombardier Boats.  More recently, he has worked the last several months at Pepsi Mid America in Marion. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, fishing and watching the Chicago Cubs.  He was Baptist and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Survivors include- Son- Thomas J. Ridgeway, Jr. of Freeman Spur Grandchild- Dillon Ridgeway of Herrin Grandchild- Cameron Ridgeway of Freeman Spur Brother- David Ridgeway and wife Kim of Herrin Sister- Tammy McClure and husband John of West Frankfort Sister- Michele Ridgeway of Herrin Brother in law- Tom McMurray Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, sister- Cathy McMurray and one brother- Rodney Laney. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, July 29, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Rev. Don Colson and Rev. Robert Jilek will officiate.  Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Monday at the funeral home.
