Tilden E. "Buddy" Parks

Tilden E. Parks "Buddy", age 69, of Marion, Illinois,  passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Integrity Health Care in Marion, Illinois.

Tilden was born January 14, 1953 in Marion, Illinois, the son of Tilden and Rosalie (Roberts)  Parks Jr.  Buddy grew up on the family farm and was a 1971 graduate of Marion High School.  He earned a Bachelors Degree from SIU in Journalism.  Buddy helped on the family farm and when his parents were in their "Golden Years", Buddy was an excellent caregiver for his parents. Buddy was an avid SIU Basketball and Football supporter, attending almost all of their home games.  He was a loyal member of Arnold View Free Will Baptist Church and loved his church "family.  Buddy was very involved with Morris Library at SIU and a sponsor or Fellowship of Christian Athletes at SIU.  

He is survived by his cousin, Jeff (Donna) Parks of Marion, IL, cousin Stephen (Beverly) Parks of Nashville, TN, and cousin Beverly (Ken) Flood of Pendelton, KY.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Tilden and Rosalie Parks.

Visitation will be Friday, December 30th, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held Friday, December 30, 2022, 11:00 AM at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Brown and Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.
