Herrin- Chrystapher Todd Simer, 46, of Herrin, passed away at 4:48 AM, Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, surrounded by loved ones.
Todd was born on October 4, 1971 in Sterling, IL to John and Susan (Abbey) Simer. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He courageously transported Marines to different areas and bases during the Gulf War. Once honorably discharged, he returned home and began a career working on motorcycles and cars Recently, he worked at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Herrin.
He was a Christian and formerly attended the Life Church in Marion. He was a stubborn man who was fiercely loyal to his friends and especially his family. He enjoyed helping others and spending quality time with his little buddies- Mackenzie and Mason. They were his whole world. He was a fighter and fought many battles for the majority of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool with his friends in APA of Southern Illinois, riding motorcycles and working on cars. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Sister- Tina Reames and husband James of Carbondale
His little buddies- Mackenzie and Mason Reames of Carbondale
Several aunts and uncles
Pet snakes- Cujo and Harriet
Beloved dogs- Cocoa and Mattie
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Chrystapher Todd Simer will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Close friend Mike Frangello will deliver the eulogy. Inurnment with military rites performed at the graveside by the Carterville and Herrin VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance from the United States Navy will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until time of service, Saturday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
