Herrin- Tony C. Pisoni, 97, of Herrin, died at 4:55 AM, Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Herrin Hospital.
Tony was born on January 7, 1906 in Herrin to Charles & Maria (Tapella) Pisoni. He married Mary T. Pessina on April 18, 1927 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. They were the second couple to be married in the existing church.
Mr. Pisoni is the retired founder of Pisoni Real Estate and Insurance, which he owned and operated for some 30years prior to turning the business over to his son Richard.
He was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, where he served as an usher and took up the collection for many years. He was a third degree in the Herrin Knights of Columbus. Tony was also a member of the Herrin Eagles Club and enjoyed playing cards with his buddies at the Pigeon Inn Club. He loved spending time outdoors, especially playing golf at the Franklin County Country Club. His dedication to golf was such that he and his friends would play with orange balls when it snowed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Dave, Bill, Louie & Joe Pisoni, sister; Josephine Pisoni, and sister in laws; Maxine, Marian & Mary Pisoni.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 5, 2003 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Thursday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. A private prayer service will be recited Thursday at the funeral home.
