Velsie M. McInturff

Marion Velsie M. McInturff, 99, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 8:06 A.M. at the Marion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Velsie was born September 12, 2011 in Williamson County the daughter of Pearl & Roxie (Howerton) Henson. She married William A. McInturff on May 24, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and together they shared over 34 years of marriage until his death on August 17, 1975. She was a Nurse Supervisor, for over 27 years for the State of Illinois Dixon Development Center in Dixon, Illinois. Velsie was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Marion Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her Nieces; Mildred King of Marion, Betty Mattox of Marion and Judy Johns of Creal Springs. Preceded by her Parents, Husband, Two Brothers Oscar Henson and Robert Henson, Sister Bessie Odum, Two Nephews Lewis Odum and Carl E. Henson. Funeral services will be Friday, January 28, 2011 at Noon with Rev. Shorty Alsip officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
