Virgibelle Poole

Virgibelle Poole, age 94, of Marion, passed away at 12:30am on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Jackson County Rehabilitation and Care Center. Vergi was born in Macedonia on July 3, 1919, the daughter of Harvey and Dora (Cremeens) Dungey. She married William C. Poole in Marion on June 8, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1969. Mrs. Poole was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Marion. She had retired from the Marion Dairy Queen.  Vergi enjoyed her time serving on the Heartland Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Survivors include one son- Robert D. and Patricia Poole of Murphysboro Grandchildren- Chris and Zena Poole of Golconda Kim Stalhut of Marion Fifteen Great Grandchildren Twenty-Four Great Great Grandchildren Brother- J.D. Dungey of Marion Several nieces, nephews, and cousins She was preceded in death by her parents; son- William D. Poole; grandchildren- Tracey Mae Poole, Steven Poole, and Elizabeth Maynard; Great Granddaughter- Ashley Smith; and sister-in-law- Mary Dungey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Marvin Kleinau officiating.  Private burial will follow at a later date at OddFellowsCemetery in Marion.  Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of services on Monday.
