Marion Vickie Darlene Penny Cockrum, 53, lost her battle with cancer but won eternal life thru victory in Jesus on Monday, November 13, 2006 at 5:38 A.M.
Penny was born September 1, 1953 in Kokomo, Indiana to Ernest B., Sr. and Leona (Hill) Mofield. She married Gregory Cockrum on March 11, 1996 in Marion and he survives.
Penny was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of West Frankfort. She worked at Sams Club as a cashier.
Survivors include; Husband Gregory of Marion, Son Scott Mofield and wife Tara of Carterville, Grandson Hayden Mofield of Carterville, Three Step-grandchildren. Two Brothers Robert Leon Biggs and wife Beverly of Galatia, Ernest Mofield, Jr. and wife Jean of Marion, Four Sisters Shirley Beltz and husband Butch of Marion, Donna Bocook and husband Jeff of the Lake of Egypt, Bonnie Wade and husband Ralph of Marion, Faye Hamilton and husband Phillip of Nashville, Tennessee. Several nieces and nephews.
Preceded by Parents, Two Sisters Ruth Houchin and Joyce Ann Mofield.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Frankfort with Bishop Derek Key officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 9:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home and on Thursday from Noon until the time of service at the church.
