Herrin- Vickie I. Harris, 87, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Herrin, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. Vickie was born on February 8, 1919 in Christopher to Sam & Rose (Saliba) Saliba. She married Rev. Sampson H. Harris on August 30, 1951. He survives of Nashville, TN. Mrs. Harris worked at Harlans Department Store in Sterling, IL, Montgomery Ward in Ft. Worth, TX and then at Zwicks Ladies Store and Merle Norman in Herrin. She was a member of Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church and the Herrin Senior Citizens. SURVIVORS: Son & daughter in law- Stephen A. & Jan Harris- Nashville, TN Son & daughter in law- Sampson O. & Donna Harris- Nashville, TN Son- James R. Harris- Lemay, MO Seven Grandchildren: Ryan Harris & wife Angie David Harris Tyson Harris Christopher Harris Shelly Renee Harris Matthew Harris Nicholas Harris Great Grandchild- Kiara Stillman Sister- Sammy Sellars- Herrin Brother- Tammer Saliba- Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Zine Cornwell, Myrtle McCarty, Flossie Saliba & Fairy Booth, and two brothers, George & Mike Saliba. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Dr. Randy Grace will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
