Viola Laverne Guy

Herrin- Viola Laverne Guy, 76, of Herrin, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Viola was born on January 22, 1933 in Michigan to Wilford & Dorothy (Mitchel). She married Clarence M. Guy on November 11, 1977 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1997. Mrs. Guy formerly worked as a switchboard operator at a hospital before retiring as a booking agent for MicroTel. She was a protestant. Viola enjoyed shopping and spending time with her close friends in the Birthday Club. Survivors include- Daughter- Cheryl Ritter of Herrin Son- Timothy Spangler & wife Linda of Spring Hill, FL Daughter- Beverly Murray & husband John of Ft. Lauderdale, FL Son- John Sepulvado & wife Silka of Germany Ten Grandchildren Several Great Grandchildren Many close friends She was preceded in death by her parents & husband. Mrs. Guys wishes were for her remains to be donated to Southern Illinois University School of Medicine for anatomical study. Funeral arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Humane Society and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
