Herrin- Violet Marie Fields, 94, of Herrin, passed away at 5:45 AM, Sunday, March 13, 2005 at her home.
Violet was born on September 3, 1910 in Carterville to John & Clara (Thompson) Sullivan. She married Otis Fields on September 8, 1927 in W. Memphis, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1977.
Mrs. Fields was a homemaker. Caring for her family was her first priority. She formerly worked outside the home as an apartment manager and a bookkeeper for a construction company. She was a quiet lady who cared for others and a member of Cambria Baptist Church.

Grandson- Stanley E. Fields & wife Carole- De Soto, MO

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons; Otis Fields, Jr. & Robert E. Fields, fours sisters and four brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until time of service, Tuesday at the funeral home.
