Violet Margerett Phillips

VIOLET MARGERETT PHILLIPS, age 93, of Marion, passed away at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Violet was born in Marion on November 1, 1914, the daughter of Harvey and Jennie (Cash) Phillips. Her mother passed away ten months later and she was raised by her Uncle Burney and Aunt Dora (Cash) Phillips. Violet is survived by- Half brother-Glenn Phillips of New Burnside, IL Half-sister- Geraldine (Phillips) Drew of New Burnside, IL Several cousins; Opal Cash of Irons, MI Ray Cash of West Frankfort, IL Charles and Joy Cash of West Frankfort, IL Dick and Donna Cash of Danville, IL Jack and Penny (Cash) Antonini of Danville, IL David and Carol Jean (Cash) Bethel of Avon, IN Mike & Cindy Cash of West Frankfort, IL Roger Cash of West Frankfort, IL Terry and Carla (Cash) McClendon of West Frankfort, IL Elva May and Roy Gold of Marion, IL Violet was a member of the Fountain Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 11, 2008 at Mitchell- Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Rev. Frank Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
