Violet McKinney

Marion Violet McKinney, 95, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 5:00 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Violet was born October 3, 1915 in Johnson County the daughter of William Julius and Lille Jane (Faulkner) Sharp. She married Harvey McKinney on April 6, 1956 in Marion and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1980. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and the Marion Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Violet was a retired teacher, she taught for over 40 years. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 10 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Bill Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to First Christian Church Memorial Fund.
