Marion- VIOLET B. (WILL) THROGMORTON, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Angel Acres in Marion, where she has resided for the past year. Violet was born July 14, 1920 in Marion, the daughter of Earl and Sadie (Deaton) Buckner. On December 24, 1936, she married John C. Will in Anna-Jonesboro. To this union, three boys were born, Charles L, Edward L, and John W. Will. They were Violets pride and joy. She has eight grandchildren, Tammy Allgaier and husband Alphonse, Tim Will and wife Elizabeth. Kimberly Camp and husband Charlie, Jayson Will and wife Dayna, Julie Cannedy, Amy Tallman and husband Justin, Christy VanZant, Melissa Davidson and husband Jason. She also has fifteen great grandchildren. After 58 years of marriage to John C Will, he passed away on November 7, 1994. After four years, God sent Violet another wonderful partner. Violet married Lester (Pat) Throgmorton. They shared three years of wonderful happiness before Pat passed away on September 17, 2001. From this marriage Violet gained two step-children, Kay Paul and husband Dan, Wesley Throgmorton and wife Pam, six step grandchildren, and eight step great grandchildren. Until her health faded, Violet was very active in church, as she was a charter member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Marion. She loved to laugh and have fun. She loved God first, and then her family. Violet graduated from VTI of SIU Carbondale, nursing school. For over twenty years, she cared for the people of Marion at the old Marion Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her son- John W. Will and wife Cheryl of Marion, IL Step children- Kay Paul and husband Dan of Crete, IL Wesley Throgmorton and wife Pam of Virgin Islands And all her grand and great grandchildren Special daughter in law- JoAnn Will of Calvert City, KY Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother- Arville Buckner, and sons Charles and Edward Will. Violet loved everyone, even her undertaker, but most of all her Lord and Savior. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Roy Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church- Seniors Group.
